Welcome to the bidding war!
My money is on the people that love football more than children.
Holy Shit!
The silly season is in full swing now.
Get your popcorn ready!
Kiffin will get a raise into the 12 mill per year range and stay put. LUS will shoot for the stars and fumble again it in their DNA.
Kiffin will end up at LSU winning multiple national championships.
College football is no longer, its all professional now days.
I think the question is if om and family can pony up money and pressure (GUILT).....to keep LK....DO THEY have enough for NIL AND assistants....I guess we can see another tobacco/abestos lawsuit on the way.....
My lsu family member said watch Jon Sumrall.
Two of my greatest moments was watching Fitz run roughshod over the Reverend and being City Grocery bar when he it was announced he was gone. What would it be like to be up there if it’s announced he leaves>..But Coach I just don’t see it.....blood is thick....they are Gods now up there.....
If Kiffin wants to win a national championship this is the time to leave Ole Miss. If he stays then I guess he truly is comfortable being with his family in Oxford and being a local god because deep down he knows he's not winning a championship there.
I think he's in Baton Rouge next year. And when he wins a national championship Ole Miss fans will claim partial ownership.
Why does everyone think Lane wants the LSU job? It doesn't seem like a fit to me. Not more than UF at least
I recently had an argument with an Ole Miss fan about this. He asked why I thought Kiffin would take the LSU job. I asked if he thought Kiffin was a better coach than Miles or O and he said yes. I said "Those guys had national championships at LSU in their first five years and Lane is in year six at Ole Miss."
He said Kiffin thinks he can win a natty at Ole Miss and I said "whatever helps you sleep".
LSU has a state with very talented athletes where 95% of them want to play in Baton Rouge. Add to that they can recruit nationally. A good coach can compete for a title every year in that job and win a title every 3-4 years. Bama is only job better in the country than LSU. Georgia is 3rd. Ohio St 4th.
If LK wins out and then wins a playoff game, why would he leave? He'd be right on the cusp of a NC and their alumni would write bigger checks for his team. You all say it's just NIL now and not recruiting. Now if he doesn't think he can make it all the way then, yeah, of course he bolts.
At some point, the cost of retaining him and paying for these teams will catch up to a small school like OM. LSU or Florida just have so much more of a pool to get money from. Not saying he will leave, but if the dream is to be known as a great, you gotta get to a blue blood. Lane may not give a crap though
