We're not going to start Kamario if that is what you're hoping. Even in the event of an injury, the backup would be Luke. Kamario just isn't ready. And that's ok!! I think some people are thinking that this is NCAA Football and you can just plug anyone in and everything works great. Kamario needs work. He's having trouble picking up the playbook and having trouble making the correct reads. Look no further than Saturday. 3 of his 4 plays in the middle of the field were RPOs. If he hands off on even one of them, Gayten has a first down. He's gotten by on his athleticism for so long that he's still figuring out how to make the correct reads in real time.
And btw, none of that makes him a bad player. It makes him a Freshman. Which he is. The kid is extremely athletic and has all the physical tools to be a great, he just needs coaching and development.
