Fascinating how bad a year Ok State, UCF, West Va. and Purdue all had and yet they return the fewest starters! Maybe that's the old " the good news is Nobody is back"!!

Typically yes. but they still need to be SEC level talent, Not G5.

Well yeah. But in the portal era most teams are able to trim any deadweight.

Personally I think they are going to miss Dart a lot. We'll see.

Part of same reason I'm higher on Fla and Ok than most.

I don’t think they will miss Dart at all. They gonna miss the OL vets and defensive players I believe.

I think Fla is going to be very good- but they could be very good and still be 8-4. Their schedule is insane. If I’m Foley- Sunbelt Billy gets 1 freebie loss just because the schedule is ridiculous. I keep him at 8-4. If he does 7-5- they gonna fire him. Fla fans have unrealistic expectations just like LSU does

Agree. I just think they are going to be really good. Top 3 in sec good.

You're talking about a first round QB that they just lost. Now, Simmons may eventually be one some day but it's hard to have that back to back even for someone like Alabama. Add in the other losses at key position groups plus really high expectations and it's going to be hard to deal with.

I think teams are going to shift to a pro mentality. You build a core. For example MSU can build around Kamario Taylor, JJ Hill, Lockhart, etc. Then you bring in "free agents" to build around them.

And I don't know that there is a specific number or percentage of how much has to be from recruiting vs how many from the portal but teams definitely need something to build around. I guess in a perfect world you would have about 10-15 guys that are your core from 2-3 classes and then another 10-15 from the portal or something like that. So, I think player development still has a place in the game but teams definitely have to at least be active in the portal.

I base it off the fact the word was the wasn’t much difference between him and Dart last year. Basically, Simmons has a higher ceiling than Dart

Game reps matter even with more talent. Simmons might be real good by end of year, we'll see. Do agree that OL is what will make him look pedestrian at times probably. Game is won and lost in the trenches which is also why I think OM steps back this year to mediocre.
