They cancelled to help our RPI. Ole Miss did it the year they won the championship. They would not have gotten in had they played the game.
Committee said they?d penalize last year if you cancel a game this late and it?s not weather related

What we should have done is not schedule the game to start with. We've never been in a situation where we "needed" to play a midweek game this late in the year. There is no way we could schedule a decent team that late in the season last minute either because everyone's schedule is full.Quote:

Realistically, if I am on a selection board responsible for picking teams and assigning seeding, I throw out the games against lower RPI teams win or lose. You would not make a final decision on a team being in or out because they played a game against North Alabama. If you played 10 teams with that poor of an RPI to bump up your win total then that should be considered but not 3 or 4 games where you may be trying out some pitchers or other players.
