My neighbor and him were in army flight school together and served together and were still good friends. He said he was a great guy and outstanding officer/ He was an army Aviator and ranger school graduate.

He was a Army Ranger, Champoin Boxer, Rhodes Scholar, Teacher, Writer, singer, actor...... he was that dude for sure

If yall haven't seen 1973's Pat Garrett and Billy the Kid, definitely check it out. One of the most underrated westerns ever made. Kris plays Billy and James Coburn plays Garrett. Kristofferson is also in another favorite westerns of mine, Michael Cimino's Heaven's Gate, which isn't without controversy, but it's so GD epic and vast. And Kris is amazing in it.
