We have to admit that we are at the end.

In the world of college football as it now exists there is not much chance of digging out of this hole. Will be very difficult to keep the good ones you have and harder to get any that are good enough to play in the SEC. This program is done, thanks to the group that put John Cohen in charge because you can point that the destruction of our football program and the general downturn of our athletic department as a whole.

I don?t know where this ends but it will not be good for our university as a whole.

It ends with us out of any type of super conference. We will be relegated to the AAC or Sun Belt and be a G5 program. All our SEC TV money will dry up and we will be back to the LT penny pinching days.

It is bad for everything, and that includes that oh so precious baseball program some of the fan base puts on an alter. How do they think we pay for all the nice stuff, high salaries, and how we keep affording to make the payments for the loan on the stadium??? SEC MONEY.

We can’t. That’s why the shortsighted hire of Cohen was so bad. His lack of experience and just plain arrogance killed all the momentum that football, baseball and women’s basketball had built for the department and university. His inability to hire competent coaches hurt and eventually led to where we are now. I hope those that pushed that prick into that job are happy they killed the whole dame thing.

Look no further than those that have been within the athletic program over several regime changes and how they connect to certain boosters. They are 95% responsible for this. Entire athletic program needs a restructure from bottom to very top.

And Selmon to his credit has ridded most of them from the dept.

I just had a State fan say leaving the Stadium that we had no choice but to hire Arnett after Leach died. He intimated that Leach dying killed our program.

This shit show rests at the feet of Cohen. It started with hiring Moorhead after one interview and cancelling the rest. Cohen hired Leach b/c Leach fell into our laps after we were going to hire Joe Judge. Joe ****ing Judge. Add Cohen's abhorrence to NIL and the hole got deeper. Then Cohen bails. We can't hire an AD for some reason and Arnett is set up for failure by idiot boosters. I'm all for giving Lebby four years b/c there needs to be stability in the program and a single vision. If it pans out then it pans out.

Several of us here screamed bloody murder when it became apparent Leach was actually in serious contention for our job. One of the big reasons was because of his open he was about hating to recruit. Another was that every program he left had a roster devoid of talent and wholly unfit to run anything but his old, worn out gimmick offense. But Cohen was smarter than everyone else in the SEC who spent 2 decades passing on Leach and decided to hire him. I'm not sure if I hate LT or Cohen more. The fact it's even close speaks volumes about how terrible Cohen was.

Cohen hired Leach. He was a bad AD you will get no argument from me there. But if he was the AD when Leach passed away he would have probably hired Freeze.

He's not the one that hired Arnett or Lebby.

Those two programs that Leach before- all of that occurred before the NIL era. It is much easier to turn a roster over now. Arnett decided to keep Will and guys recruited for the Air Raid and decided to make them run a lunch pail blue collar offense.
