What was so bad about his call?
I don't they'll give baseball to Neil. I think they'll turn that over to Bart but that's just a guess.
It just sounded dead. It sounded like he was the last one in the park that knew it went out. Hell everyone knew that thing was gone the minute it left the bat. I'm just waiting for someone to give it the Moneyball treatment.Quote:

I always figured Bart would be the guy once Jim was done...he halfway sounds like he's doing a Jim Ellis impersonation anyway. But with the games being on TV now and that being the way a lot of people take in the game, I do wonder what route will be taken when that time comes. Until then i'm going to enjoy listening to voice of the diamond dawgs and knowing the outcome of the play by the reaction of the crowd several seconds before Jim tells me what happened.

I love Jim the person. He's a great guy and outspoken Christian. I think his eyesight has deteriorated some the last couple of years and that's probably hurt some of his calls. Has he slipped some as an announcer? Absolutely, but I bet he's better than 98% of college baseball radio play by play announcers. Everyone knows he's never been able to say "sixth" 🤣. And he drives me crazy not giving the score enough. But he's still really good.
