Van Dyke's best season was his freshman year when Rhett Lashlee was Miami's offensive coordinator. While it's not the same offense as Jeff Lebby's, Rhett's offense has some similarities in how he pushes the tempo and utilizes the passing game to create space for the running game.

He has a better career passer efficiency rating then any starting QB in MSU history and would rate #3 in career passing yards and #4 in TDs with his current stats.

I think Lebby is looking for more mobility than Van Dyke. 32 career rushing yards. We aren't going to sign him.

To be fair that's an odd stat since they started counting sacks against rushing yards. If you're over 0 I'd consider you 'mobile' but maybe not a runner. For reference, Will had 165 'rushes' for -316 yards

Probably. I think parson is more talented. VD (lol) is better because he's taken his lumps and has experience. Parson gained some experience this yr. If you're down to those 2 and looking at the future, I'd let them battle it out in camp. If its close then Parson.

Mobile IMHO, means drew brees, agile, navigate the pocket, get 5 yds when cam/ljax would've gained 10-15 instead of taking a 10 yd sack.

I like rogers and what he's done for the dawgs, but Marino at 60 is as 'mobile' as rogers.

Yep. Mississippi State is such a blue blood football power now we can turn down a QB who started at freaking Ohio State because he may not be able to break down a DE or LB and run for 12 yards on an RPO.

I'm hoping we still have a shot at the Oak Grove QB, kid is a player. A&M is in disarray, it wouldn't surprise me if he still shows up this weekend or maybe next weekend.

I can't remember against who but I'll never forget watching Rogers turn tail and run for his life....backwards. That's probably half of those yards.

The real question is whether this means we aren?t getting DG or another big time portal qb. If not, Shapen is still going to be a solid get. If we are still in the game for others, then this is a heck up a backup plan.
