With Flowers decommit and Maddox canceling his OV and in-home visit, Is Michael Van Buren the 2024 QB commit?

Looks like it.... maybe 2 portal guys too

It will be Van Buren and two from the portal. I could see Chandler Rodgers from UNT being one of the two transfers. He is not the big game one though. I believe Rodgers could provide depth.

I think you're thinking Brock Vandergriff

If you could get Chandler Rodgers and somebody like KJ for the same price you could get a big game, which route would you rather go?

I would go look under Jeff Lebby’s likes on Twitter. That might provide some answers on who the big game is out there. His likes have been very telling the last few days.

Also, I go big game hunting. A good to great QB covers up WAY MORE problems than having a couple of more good receivers.

If we cannot get Gabriel, which my confidence in him is waning, go all in on KJ.

You do not go all in on KJ unless it is a last gasp. You go to that second grouping if you strike out on Gabriel/Ward. You move down to Uiagalelei, McCord, and Howard

What about the Texas Aggie kid who played against us and lsu? The kid was good and toolsy. He should be a graduate by now I would think.

So, who's the young QB that's not in the portal yet that we are supposed to be in on?

Good luck getting any top qb transfer right now... no oline and no WRs/TEs

On3 is predicting Van Dyke from Miami to land at State FWIW

Does Lebby do well with pocket passers?

Yeah, Goede going to the portal and perhaps Ellis back to OL has killed our loaded TE position in the future.** I never realized how poorly we had evaluated, recruited, and developed our players at so many positions the last few years with the 2023 clown show staff making it even worse. Lebby has to turn over this roster asap. How many of our returning players would start at another team? We have a tremendous job ahead. Hail State!

Sucks about Maddox, kid is a player.

Assuming we lock up Van Buren this weekend.

Really Clark?

DG looking like he could visit next week, hopefully.

Does Lebby do well with pocket passers? I don?t know but Van Dyke had 19 TDs &12 Ints this year. That?s not good

That's also not the total picture with him. He threw 25 tds to 6 ints while the average YPC was 9.0.

Yep. That was under a fast-paced offense with Lashlee as OC so that's more along the lines of what I'd expect with Lebby.

Senior. He is intriguing.
