A few. Not sure how many tho. Washington in 91 with Doug Williams is one. Raiders in 80 with Jim Plunkett. Giants and Hostetler. Pats 1st SB win with Brady. Rams with Kurt Warner.

Ohio State won 1st CFP with their 3rd string QB

More than you might think, the first do it was Miami with Earl Morrall and the last to do it was Philadelphia with Nick Foles.

Actually Griese was back for Dolphins SB.

Oops, my mistake. Earl Morrall was the back-up for the Baltimore Colts, not the Dolphins, in Superbowl 5.

Doug Williams, Washington Redskins, Super Bowl XXII, 1987 season

Jeff Hostetler, New York Giants, Super Bowl XXV, 1990 season

Kurt Warner, St. Louis Rams, Super Bowl XXXIV, 1999 season

Trent Dilfer, Baltimore Ravens, Super Bowl XXXV, 2000 season

Dolphins did go thru the majority of undefeated season with Morrell at QB. Can't remember if he played any in playoff games tho.

It also is good to remember that football is a team game. Plenty of SB’s and NC’s have been won with great defense and skill players stepping up. It’s a sad day for college football. And a bunch of seniors that worked their tails off to go undefeated.

Irrelevant You don't punish the 84 other players because one player got hurt. They earned it winning all games against power 5 competition. They were also 1-0 vs SEC. Bad message to college sports but who cares.

Mullen is dead on.

You obviously didn't get my post. I was pointing out that a lot of NFL teams have won Superbowls with a backup QB. Meaning the other players on the team played a huge roll. In other words, I agree with you and Dan Mullen!

The Mullen comparison of FSU/FL vs Bama/Auburn on the same day was perfect. That dude is pretty ****ing good when he's not looking for another job.

Well, he should be since according to the Miami AD "he thinks he invented football."

Even when he is looking for a job he was better than what we have had outside Leach.

You are correct; sorry bout that. There are so many doing mental gymnastics for Bama, most don't take the Crimson glasses off.

Totally agree. I'll take a locked in Mullen any day. Shopping Mullen, not.
