OT: Memphis area weather thread

Might be a good idea for anybody in Memphis area to post any updates on weather conditions they know of.

I'm just outside the 240 loop on Poplar, and ice is beginning to accumulate on trees, roads are just wet right now, but obviously they will get worse throughout the day. So far, the St. Jude marathon is a go for... seems stupid to me, but has to be a tough call for a huge $$ event like that.

My son and d-i-l are headed up there now for the race... I'm just shaking my head....

They were talking the SJM last night on the news and said that it typically brings in $8M in revenue for them. And with a hospital that has a daily operating expense of $1.9M, a big money event like the marathon is tough to cancel.

11am: drove from downtown to Desoto County. No ice...yet! But it is going to be a ice skating rink In the morning.

It did look like riverside and front was salted. I assume for the race. However, will the salt still be there if this rain continues for hours?

I would prepare for the worst if I were yall. I'm in Ft worth and the ice is everywhere and it is thick. everything is shut down. I haven't been out today. I have seen some people out driving but it is a skating rink.
