No doubt... And there will be renting of garments, and gnashing of teeth when 5 of the 12 are from the SEC...

Well, I am all for it, IF State can get its football program together and compete for it. I am NOT for it in years that OldMrs has a good team.

However, I think it is good for the sport. for example, OM did hit their head on the glass ceiling this year. They had a good team but the talent difference is to great for them to beat Bama and UGA. So the playoffs gives teams like them, the mid-P4 programs, something to play for. Also, I think it will be crime this year......if Bama wins the SECCG and Bama and/or UGA is left out of the top 4. The 12 team playoff is needed this year.

I think 8 is enough. This year you have 8 teams that are actually good enough for the CFP. But UGA Michigan and the way Bama is playing are the top 3. These will probably browbeat all others

Expanding it to 12 is about the only way the State's of the world would ever have a chance to make it in the current environment. But it's still a long shot at best.

I like it. Bowls are stupid and pointless at this point. Give more teams something to play for after September.

However I don't think it does much to actually help with parity
