I'm good with that also, you can't drink all day if you don't start early.

I guess I'm one of the few who prefers Thursday night as the prime college game.... even if it's embarrassing

Going to lose a lot of eyeballs thats for sure. Definitely won?t feel as intense. Know the hard core fans will disagree with that but the only people who will be watching are the fans of each school.

I know a lot of people across the US who aren?t from the south or have any ties to SEC who will text me during this game on thanksgiving night.

Depends on where you live I suppose. Thursday night is OK if you're a short drive from either town.

Super Talk this afternoon said the viewership was less than spectacular, somewhere around 2.5 million. The other college game that night on FOX got over 7 million. Hadad and Cross were for putting the Egg on prime time ESPN/ABC 7pm on Thanksgiving. It would benefit both schools immensely.

Eventually the issue is going to be Texas/A&M are going to want to play on Thanksgiving.

The best solution is to rotate the Egg Bowl and Texas/A&M every two years probably.

I like the Thanksgiving national broadcast and being the only game on. Shame that that's ending.

Best solution for who? Lol. Certainly not the network if only 2.5M watched.

Why wouldn't they pick UT vs TAM every year?

That's the thing. They're scheduled for Saturday also. I wonder what game they're going to put and if it will even be SEC.

Tuskegee and Alabama State

I think our struggles this year offensively contributed to the 2.5 million.

Many picked a blow out before the game, I remember 2022 had many on Twitter talking about how good the game was, don't know the ratings

Interesting. I just took what they were saying at face value. I thought maybe a PAC12 game or something.

Take it up with your boy Hadad. His take is that's pitiful.

Tuskegee and Alabama State

I stand corrected (I was only considering FBS games), but I can't imagine that that game would draw triple the viewers of the Egg Bowl?

Yeah, struck me as odd also.

However, it was a battle of HBCUs so that could contribute.

But it was a 41-3 blowout, so that wouldn't lend itself to high numbers.

Idk.

We had our best tailgate of the year for the Egg Bowl. That wouldn't have happened for an 11:00 Saturday game which is a really big risk to happen every year by moving it to Saturday.

Best solution for our fans who want it on Thanksgiving and best solution for our fans that want it on Saturday.

Essentially a compromise.

If we have a product that is worthy of a good time slot we will get it. The game is all about the tv $$$ now, if we get much better and have an offense that puts up yards in chunks and lots of point we will get the better time slots. That is what people not affiliated with our program want to watch. 3 yards and a cloud of dust results in a press of the remote to something else.
