Do you like Deon as a HC? Just curious.

Nope.

Really Clark?

Yep.

And it's Troy 14 USM 10 at the half right now. That's our future if Sumrall is hired.

Troy beat Kinne 31-13 as well

He?s recruiting 40-50 spots worse nationally than his predecessor. And at the bottom of the Sun Belt.

We will be recruiting in the high 30s to low 50s under Sumrall.

Look, I prefer Lebby over sumrall. I do. But you and your crystal ball is just that, made up crap. You don't know how well he will recruit. You don't know how many games either will win here. But carry on. Course of sun talk gets it, we won't have to listen to you anymore cause you're out.

Well hell yeah. It's about wins. That's my point. I don't care how we get their win. But losing and being "entertaining" will get you fired too. Last time I checked that's how it works. Winning.

Wow, that dude really wants his cake and to eat it too, that train stops in Tuscaloosa last as time I checked.

I don't care what we run as long as we win. I really don't want a boring offense. I hated the Leach AR because of how boring and predictable it was. I REALLY hated the offense this year. I just like winning. So my point was I don't care if we line up and play Iowa offense and win 8-10 games a year. I'm not a cult member like some on this board.

We got I?m headed to retirement Leach and it sucked here. It was boring and ineffective. I hated it and he refused to recruit over Will Rogers.

I think Todd?s point is that we can?t win in the SEC playing the way Iowa plays. Which after this year, everyone should be in agreeance with. We tried that out with Arnett and Barbay. Sumrall is in the same mold.

My argument the whole time about Sumrall has been he won?t be successful here like he is at Troy because he just out talents teams running an Iowa-lite type of offense. He will bring that philosophy here and fail.

His will start struggling mightily next year when he starts running out of Chip Lindsey?s recruits.

We just saw what a Sumrall philosophy will be like here this year. It ain?t hard to predict. You can continue ignoring the obvious. That?s on you. Me on the other hand will point out bad hires.

Be honest. Today is the first Troy game you've really payed attention to.

Because it sounds like there's a lot of our fans paying attention to him and using one game, today's game, as the basis for why they don't want him.

They are going to blow out Southern Miss and finish 10-2 with losses to Kansas State and James Madison. We could do worse than a guy with SEC playing and coaching experience that wins football games at a P5 school in our recruiting footprint.

I think the argument is more so what works there would not translate to the SEC at a program that struggles with obtaining talent. We see this all the time with G5 coaches going to P5 jobs with even better resources than us. I think he is a good coach, but I would highly question if he translates well to what we need in 2023

Ok so his staff thinks he's boring and that he wouldn't do well in the SEC because that's all been discussed with them and they are willing to have conversations with others about that?

I mean maybe that?s true but tough to say that definitively considering Chip Lindsey took some of those same players and couldn?t win more than 5 games before he got fired

Lol. You?re dense. I?m not explaining myself more. I?ve made my point clear. Just because you disagree with it doesn?t change my point.

The guy will not be successful at this level. He was never successful at this level except for a year when he got to hitch his wagon with Matt House calling the plays at Kentucky and he was named Co/DC. He?s belongs at the G5 level. Nothing wrong with that. That?s just the truth of the matter.

They were freshman and sophomores when Lindsey got fired.

Hold on. YOU were the one throwing around that you know the staff. So I'm dense because I asked a question related to your public statements and you feeling comfortable making them because you know the staff?

I think you might be a little scared to publicly answer what I just asked you because you backed yourself into a corner of having to backup your statements. Next time don't say someone won't work for us because you know the staff. Because what you did was publicly put out there that you don't think Sumrall will work because his staff thinks he's boring and won't be successful outside of Troy.
