Just would like us to back up a moment before we immerse ourselves in coaching hot boards.

Thank you Zac Selmon for stepping up and taking care of a difficult situation that needed to be handled sooner than later. Looking forward to you being our AD for a long time.

We shall see. He hasn't done anything yet. His ass was getting roasted by the fanbase and he saw other schools firing their coaches. Hopefully he hits a home run, but this was an easy decision.

Nonetheless he got it done. And nothing about this was easy.

Easy decisions ain't always easy. At least we make them that way.

Arkansas was watching a Christmas movie in the middle of a blowout during what is a 3-7 season and they still have their head coach this morning.

Selmon may have done what everyone thought needed to be done, but it's simply not that easy to just do it. That's why there's a lot of folks on this board that don't actually have to make those decisions every day. They look easy, but it's easy to be a message board hero on topics like this when you've never actually had to fire someone and then come out and speak to people and take questions about it that same day.

A lot of folks on here didn't think Selmon would do it. He did and he deserves credit for it. Now on to the hire.

It may seem like an easy decision and from a 10 ft view it is an incredibly easy decision. However, back up for a moment and remember to take into account that Selmon has been on the job less than 9 months and he is having an in season firing of a coach in his first season. That is an extremely rare set of circumstances and kudos to Zac for stepping up and making the tough call.

I make those type decisions on a regular basis. That's why I'm so opinionated on Selmon so far. But I've also stated that he may be doing things that will end up being great. We'll see.
