I think it’s the opposite, they don’t want to give Jimbo a chance to win 2 more and make the firing look bad, they want to move on they were already gonna be paying it all, this way it looks better

I'm not sure but I'm guessing he might've burnt the bridge with Hev and I waffle back and forth on that one. Hev can coach but he actually is a negative on the recruiting trail.

Drink was a roll of the dice himself but these boxes were checked off. I say follow Mizzou's lead. Do deep research and try to find a Drink.

I actually like the guy and think he's one of the smartest coaches out there. I'm starting to think he's hungry and maybe now he realizes he had it good at MSU. If he could pull Durkin as DC that would be a good combo IMO. I just hope he's learned to not throw his DCs under the bus all the time.

I'm getting on board with it. MSU is just such a tough job. You need someone who can find the untapped talent in the surrounding area and coach them up. You need a really good QB developer too. Mullen is good at both. I'm beginning to think Drinkwitz might be really good at both too. He certainly has been at Mizzou.

Drinkwitz would never leave Mizzou to come to Starkvegas even if we doubled his salary. He's the ONLY show in Missouri with no competition for recruiting. He knows that and is about to build Mizzou into big time program. He's a slow builder. Someone would have to be patient if he took over a dumpster fire......probably3 years before real results start showing up.

I started to post something very similar to this earlier. My early and brief perception is if I were looking to coach in SEC, I can't think of a program with better advantages outside of Bama & UGA. Recruiting footprint is outstanding, fan expectations are high but not unrealistic. Seems like low outside interference from admin, good ole boys, and whatnot while the media spotlight ain't glaring on them all the time too. Low drama.

At MSU many think our true freshmen should play like Bama true freshmen. And we're just the opposite in all the other advantages Mizzou has too. Our recruiting footprint is great but the competition for it is off the charts. And of course we high drama.

Drink would be nuts IMO to leave Mizzou.

One thing that would help Mullen (if we hired him) is not having Alabama on the schedule every year. I remember one year when Alabama beat us so bad that Saban put in his substitutes and just ran the ball to hold down the score.
