Some people can really change. I remember a guy from high school (1965 graduating class) who was a real cut and polished guy when he was in HS. I later saw him at State during our freshman year and he had totally changed, in dress and in physical appearance. He had an Afro (but he was a white guy) that must have been 6 inches thick from his head - totally different person in actions as well.
