“Talking to coaches here, Scott Frost’s undoing here really game down to three things,” he said. “First, there was a real bad lack of organization. Second, he was impulsive and he would jump in in critical moments in games and make play calling suggestions of things they really hadn’t rep’d much in practice. And third, he leaned on a couple of buddies here around Nebraska and got some really bad advice.”

THE Bruce Dickinson

I don't really believe you, but if it were true I would be OK with it.

He could be a lot like Lane.

Young super hyped head coach that did not succeed at his last stop, but is still young and has had exciting offenses in the past.

Could resuscitate his image similar to Kiffin.

Would have been an amazing hire about 6 years ago, not sure how i feel about a guy who never had a .500 winning record in 5 seasons at Nebraska.

Please re-read that sentence again. In 5 seasons at Nebraska, he never had a .500 record. That seems unbelievable. Throw in a 10-26 Big 10 record and it is a bit of a tough sell.

He was fired on the tarmac after getting thumped by Arizona State. Levels of severity can be debated, but this is not how successful coaches end their tenure with a high level program.

I get it. Stats lie. They always do. You need to go back and read about their sanctions. They were absolutely hammered and he couldn't sign full classes. Plus no one wanted to go there because of the probation. He did a really solid job if you take all things into consideration. A lot of USC people were pissed when he got fired.
Anyway, I can't stand Lane but recognize he's done really well.

I will just say if we fire CZA and Frost is our best option, a lot of people severely overestimated our potential coaching pool of interested coaches.

I wouldn't mind seeing him back in football as an OC and I think that is what's really going on. If for some reason CZA is retained and makes changes, I could see Frost getting that interview.

Kiffin won 10 games on probation. They announced the probation in June of the his first year. He finished 2nd, 1st, and then 3rd in the Pac. They fired him when he was 3-2. We have no idea how that season would have turned out. What we do know in the interim coach finished the season 10-4.

Kiffin is a lot of things imo, but a bad HC is not one of them.

I woke up this morning thinking about those things. Regardless, I think aTm may be coach shopping at the end of the season. I also think there's a great chance Kiffin moves on after this season. It's certainly a possibility. Arkansas seems to be ready for a change. They need it bad. Beamer ain't doing too great at South Carolina.
