I am hearing that the Cigar Boys have already reached out to Target to build a store in Starkville. My ?source? also said they reached out to Megan letting her know about the imminent Target and she said she would get to work on Daniel to encourage him to come on back home. She did say she was glad to hear about Target and that she buys all of Daniel?s Gameday Coach?s Shorts there.

Anybody know where they are planning to build the Target?

Target is 2006 level requirements. Target's have become the Walmart of weirdos. Even in Boulder, CO a lady needs to have a ready pepper-spray bottle near a Target. Womenfolk order everything on-line now.

For physical stores, my daughters and wife can't live without Lululemon.

Not talking about me, I bought all the clothes I need 15-to-20 years ago when the US dollar was still worth something. I'm like MSU's Dr. Carskadon, found a look, sticking with it.

Downtown Auburn has a target. ...and if downtown Starkville could get something like this.... Female student population would increase over night.

Almost anywhere would be better than his current "salon".

Looks like it's a mini-Target at just 19,000 sq ft in one of those now-popular mixed-use developments. The article says there's already a Target in Opelika.

Hard to compare Starkville/Oktibbeha to Auburn/Lee though. Lee County, where Auburn and Opelika are, has a population of over 180,000. For some reason, that area is growing pretty fast.

I'm not looking to have a debate on Lee County v Oktibbeha. However my point is, I didn't even know Target built smaller stores like that in smaller towns. So it is possible for target to build another store similar in another location.

I know Target is a running joke here but it is amazing how much nicer their stores are as compared to Walmart. I was in one just the other day in Gulf Shores and it was nice. But Walmart has plans for upgrades so maybe they will close the gap a bit.
