Is there anybody fluent or know someone fluent in Japanese?

There is a massive HR hitting kid 140 HRs in HS that did not apply for the draft but instead intends to ?study abroad? and go to ?American university?. So far Vandy is the only one to contact him.

This kids hits HR like crazy and plays a mean 1B ?. Rintaro Sasaki Is his name and his father is a baseball coach with connections to Ohtani?

Just throwing it out there

I don?t think he is interested in that. He spoke of college atmospheres and wanting to feel that in an interview. Of course it was translated, so it may not have been what he really said.

He would be a huge get for our team not to mention give us a toehold in an area that is eat up with baseball.

Vandy and Oregon are after him from what I've read. He's projected as the number 1 pick in Nippon Professional Baseball but has mentioned playing collegiately in the States. Worth a shot I guess. Probably would be a smooth transition from Japan to Starkville. I mean, we do have a UMI*****

May be time to hit up Austin Riley for a donation to the Bulldog Initiative.

International players are ineligible for NIL per article on the kid. I?m sure whoever goes after him will find a way around it.
