What does that mean? Hunter Renfroe plays same position - RF.

No effect IMO...

Smitty is strictly a platoon/righty guy at this point in his career...and hunter is still at least a season away from the show...

Means Seth will be Looking for a team after next season

Seth Smith is more of a pinch hit/fourth outfield guy.

I doubt he will have any effect on Hunter Renfroe who will be in the minors all year.

Smith was the 5th OF for the A's and will now be a player that will have to move around to keep a job in the majors. If Hunter continues to progress nothing to worry about. A's making room for Cruz, I hope.

Noooooooooooooooooooooo!

Cespedes, Reddick, Crisp, Gentry

Gentry and Crispy platoon in CF.

Our Dear Leader would never go for Nelson Cruz. That would be a horrible decision.

Jim Johnson was interesting decision.

Coco Crisp ain't platooning. He was arguably the A's best hitter in the 2nd half.

Not really. A lot of folks will look at that and say "wow that money coul have been better used somewhere else for more value" but in reality the A's had that leftover money and are set everywhere else so they coul afford to "overpay" for a top arm in the pen. It would be more difficult to shift around everywhere else for a marginal upgrade at a position or SP where they are already set.

Will trade Reddick -- need more power so Cruz is on the radar. Coco sits a little more in the coming yr. No spring chicken anymore.

If they look to sign Cruz, I wouldn't be surprised to see them shop Cespedes while his value is still pretty high

cespedes has 2 more years at a reasonable price and had a worse 2013 than 2012. if he bounces back, his value will go up in 2014. no point in selling him right now imo.

Sorry Will, already talking to his agent. Reddick is one they will shop and understand already have a team lined up for a trade just have have to close the deal with Cruz. Think how that improves our line-up. Wow
