Geez. He'd probably hire Bo Pelini as his DC. The desperation of some people.

That's because he's on the phone with Selmon.

He didn't set the world on fire at UFC in a weak conference. They moved up to the Big 12 this year, we'll have to see how this season plays out.

It's like people forget how mediocre his was at Auburn. People figured his offense out and he didn't adjust

I was ready to open up the vault for Urban before someone on here said that he hated us as a program. Now I am thinking Petrino would be a good option as a HC

We shouldnt hire anyone that has an offense that does not value a dual threat qb. So no on petrino. He wants a drop back guy. Cant win at MState if your best player/most dynamic player on the field isnt your QB

He is by far one of the best that we could get.
He won at auburn. Won big at times. Ask auburn if they regret firing him. They havent sniffed anything since

I'd let Arnett stay and be the DC.
Really Clark?

I like Arnett as a person and DC, but you can't demote. It would have to be a clean break.

Gus would be a hard no.
While it would make some happy, we would never be able to pass the football with Malzahn. He has no idea how to develop a passing game. He can?t develop QBs at all.

Our best option would be a modified air raid IMO

We're halfway through a transition to a more ground-based offense, you want to change again?

Why would Malzahn come here? Do y'all not know UCF is in a Power conference and he just signed an extension? Nobody besides State fans would think we're a better program than UCF right now. He ain't moving from Florida to Starkville to clean up this mess.

yes, lets change again back to the offense that never really worked before, but lets do it for "nostalgia" or some shit...**

There is going to be a transition regardless because this staff will not be here. And yes, the days of ground based offenses are gone. If you want to do better than 7-5 then you better be throwing it. Recruits dont want to play for teams that want to RTGDF

Passing is important but it doesn't have to be AR

Isn't Auburn still paying him? His new deal is $4 MIL per until 2026 then it's $5.5 MIL for them and 2027.

Thats why I said ?modified? in the previous post. Most all offenses, nfl and college, use air raid concepts. Theyre not air raid either

You have to realize, they would rather have a service academy offense than what USC runs.

That's different. Modified or modern AR is still AR at its base. A offense that incorporates AR concepts isn't really modified AR. I get where you going that though.

Pitman is 2-4 with 4 straight losses and a butt whipping coming up in 2 weeks. The Hogs will be calling for Petrino to come home!

No 17n kidding!!!!
We (fans on here) act like we deserve Urban Meyer or some shit. We sound like OM.
We have our version of Matt Luke without the university tie.
Gus would be a home run. The dude won an NC for Auburn and then the boosters undermined him when the greatest coach of all time beat them some. Then they sucked. Now they resorted to a guy who went all in and won but is the biggest wolf in sheep?s clothing living in the continental USA.
