Ed Morgan former mayor of Hattiesburg Ms. Ed played running back for Bama under Paul Bear Bryant. I met Ed when I was just a kid. I met him at one of my dad?s friends house in Hattiesburg. Ed was dating my dad?s friend daughter. I was in awe that I actually got to meet a player for the famous Bear. Ed told me this following story several years ago.
Ed told that at practice one day Bear pulled him aside and told Ed in Bear?s slow southern drawl that Ed was one the best running backs that he?d ever seen with NO talent.
