That everything is still in-front of us. I said a few weeks ago I wouldn't be surprised if everyone in the west had at least two losses, well everyone in the west has 1 or more losses currently and we are only on week five.

How it stands currently in the West:

1. LSU 2-0 conference 3-1 overall
2. Bama 1-0 conference 3-1 overall
3. A$M 1-0 conference 3-1 overall
4. Auburn 0-1 conference 3-1 overall
5. Pissville U 0-1 conference 3-1 overall
6. Arky 0-1 conference 2-2 overall
7. State 0-2 conference 2-2 overall

What needs to happen this weekend is below:

1. LSU beats Pissville U I know this gives LSU a 3 game jump but I will never pull for Pissville.
2. State beats Bama.
3. Arky beats A$M
4. Auburn loses to Georgia

If the above happens the standings after Saturday will look like this:

1. LSU 3-0 conference 4-1 overall
2. Bama 1-1 conference 3-2 overall
3. A$M 1-1 conference 3-2 overall
4. Arky 1-1 conference 3-2 overall
5. State 1-2 conference 3-2 overall
6. Auburn 0-2 conference 3-2 overall
7. Pissville U 0-2 conference 3-2 overall

I get this puts LSU in major driving situation but it also puts us in a good spot as well and we just need LSU to lose some games and us to play out and see how the ball drops.

At the end of the day. It's way more enjoyable to go through the week holding onto belief and hoping for the best only to be dashed and upset at the end of saturday than it is to be pessimistic all week and grumpy then just sit in angry contempt at being right about us being bad.

I choose to believe because football is fun and believing is fun.

State dug a huge hole by not beating USC. Could become the first SEC team to 0-3 this weekend. The schedule has lined up just like the polls thought it would against State. The writers and SIDS looked at our early SEC schedule and easily predicted 1-7 and last in the West. Lose to Bama this weekend and the team crumbles, as the pollsters expected. If talent from here on out costs lots of money, State is doomed Poor State, poor local fan base, and wealthy Alumni scattered all over the country, with their kids growing up fans of the School in their backyard. Heck, I know several State Alum Delta Farmers who?s kids grew up going to Private Schools and chose to go to Ole Miss or Georgia following friends and/or girlfriends/ boyfriends. Very wealthy farmers whose heart and soul was State, but their kids chose another route. Engineering grads from State who stayed in Mississippi and attend games and support financially are rare as the money was in Houston, or Huntsville, or Dallas or Nashville or even Oklahoma.
