He was a standout safety in HS and we insist on using multiple TEs. We need help on the back side on Defense

Then he'd fit right in.

Fast enough to be a receiver/TE but too slow to be a safety? Got it

lol- no. He is not fast enough to be a WR- that is his problem. He needs to add weight/strength and be a TE. Safety now after trying to add some weight?

Hayyyyyyyle no

He's faster than people think, but that's a firm no at safety. He has potential to be a great flex TE.

If we had a dynamic coach who might use him as an Evan Ingram down the seam type tight end. Unfortunately?????

You're kidding right. He would be toast 2.0.

I watched him in high school his last two years - saw him 4-5 times and lots in film. He?d be a heckuva flex TE and f he could put on another 10 lbs of muscle. I always thought his best options at this level would be as a rangy OLB (he loved contact in HS), a flex, or a possession WR. he had some of the best hands I saw for a HS player and was faster than he appeared to be but has a long gait almost like Nick Fitzgerald.

We should go recruit Michael Trigg that just left Ole Miss for a TE next year

Y'all should be a little more open minded about this kind of thing.... it's 2023, after all....

A lot of truth in this post. I watched him play in HS a lot too and he always impressed me most on the defensive side of the ball. He was recruited by CML to play receiver and that?s apparently what he wants to do, so my scenario would never work if he did not want it to. I just see our struggles back there and know that if what he did in HS could correlate to SEC football, he could help. But I admit he is slower than your normal safety. He ain?t slow. And he loved contact. He could out muscle a lot of his HS competition. I know that doesn?t automatically carry over to college.

I think he could develop into a NFL H-Back or TE potentially.

He's probably our best TE now. We should be starting him over Goede.

But on defense? Nope.

Saw him after the lsu game, walking to our car, and he had a lady on the phone. Not sure if that means he goes both ways or just one. Good luck tho
