"10. Ole Miss (7-5, 3-5 SEC; LW: 7): Oh, what could have been for this team."

They still think Ole Miss had 10-win potential and just squandered it away, still failing to see that they're just not a good team. I have to say that the PR and hype job Ole Miss has done is truly impressive, even if it just ends up hurting them as usual.

Yeah, I don't get it. What do people think 'could have been' for them?

Ok, Alabama? Nope. Missouri? Nope, they're not as good a team and were never really 'in' that. Auburn? Eh; again, not as good a team and Auburn had a fairly comfortable margin the whole way through. If Ole Miss had stopped Auburn in the 4th quarter, they would have had a shot, but it's not as though that's one they just let slip through their fingers. Texas A&M? Yes, they could have won it. Egg Bowl? Yes, they could have won it. But they didn't win, either, and every year there are games like that. They also could have lost to Vandy and LSU. That's the way it goes.

You say 'Oh, what could have been' for a team like Alabama or perhaps even Georgia. But not teams like us, Ole Miss, LSU, Texas A&M...we all just were what we were.

We could have beat Auburn and we hung with LSU for a while, and if we had our starting QB, who knows how the Bama game goes. So? We weren't truly a much better team than our record and neither were they.

I'm not quite sure why people thought they would do more than this. So they won 6 games last year and signed a good recruiting class. 6 wins + a few true freshman usually doesn't equal monster season. I guess maybe people just assumed Freeze's offense would be a juggernaut and Wallace would just start throwing darts everywhere, and their OL would maul people, and Nkemdiche would have 20 sacks, but none of those things had any basis in reality before the year.

Before the season, almost everyone counted Mizzou and Auburn as wins for them.
