Our defensive backs gave so much cushion the My Pillow guy was jealous.

We outright refused to cover the back coming out of the backfield.

Zero pressure without bringing the house and still couldn't get a sack.

Because of the lack of pressure we had several coverage breakdowns on top of our own coverage issues.

Offensive play calling looked like it was done by a special needs monkey on meth.

Our running backs are straight up men. Reminds me of the Sherrill days the way they deliver hits instead of take them.

Kicker did miss a FG but it happens. At least I'm not sweating extra points any more.

We've got a lot of work to do on both sides of the ball and both sides of the sideline or we're going to be everybody's bitch come SEC play.

Can’t argue with any of this. To rank, starting with the worst:
1) OC playcalling
2) Defensive cushion/alignment
3) No pressure by our DL and they pretty much picked up all our blitzes after the first quarter
4) Covering the back out of the backfield/ or covering the flats periods
5) Bad coverage on deep balls right before half

On def the LBs made some great plays but they are too slow to cover the Rbs.

He's not the biggest problem by far, but you've still got to throw Will in there too. The man adds NOTHING to the offense. Can't check to the right play pre snap, can't make a play post snap, can't throw it downfield. Has 166 yards passing today and 88 of thse were passing within 5 yards of the line that the receiver did the rest on. He's not it. He's not our biggest problem today by far, but he's not it.

Could/Can Will win the SEC? What are here to do?
Will better get better. He has 6 days.

Defend the screens and the back out of the backfield, and Will can’t hurt any defense with his arm.

Tulu, Marks and the defense will have to win games, and that ain’t gonna fly against most SEC teams.

Hard to do anything when your play caller isn't letting you throw at all if you are a QB.

You honestly think Will can't change the play?

Arnett said post game that defensive and offensive game plans were the problems, but the players won the game. The coaches have to do better. I agree with him.

Always a bad sign for the long term when coaches say this. Basically telling people I dont know what the hell I?m doing. But I bet he is going to dog cuss them like crazy all week, which will be sufficient for most of our fans that he is the right guy to lead our program.

Saban blamed his coaches last night. And he's done it plenty of times before.

So unless Saban is bad, I don't understand this line of thinking. Coaches have bad games. They have bad game plans. And in most of those scenarios the team loses. We didn't last night.

Let's give Arnett a chance please. He's a first time head coach. There are growing pains sometimes. But give the man a damn chance to actually attempt to do his job before you bury him and and the program in game 2.

Agree. On #1 I'd add not knowing what to do with Will is causing a lot of that. This is the same problem we had when Leach got here in reverse. When you run a certain system but don't have players to do it, expect what you see. We had the same growing pains with air raid. I said it then too; when you only run a scheme it takes a while to get those scheme type players. We were going to pay the price later when Leach was gone. Well time to pay up.

I always re-evaluate after each game. He has got to get better. Our OL has to protect for Will to be successful. On the very few times he got to throw, there were too many breakdowns.

Conservative play calling and shitty ass refs had to do with a lot last night

The thing that scares me after the first two games is that I realize starting next Saturday, our coaching staff will be coaching against an SEC coaching staff with much better players than anything we've seen so far. I think we're in big trouble. I like Arnett and wanted to believe but now I'm extremely concerned. And then he starts his post game interview with an F bomb on national television. Embarrassing.

Next week, playing LSU may resemble a prison shower scene.

Yep. LSU looked like a good team in their FSU loss. We haven?t looked good and almost lost a game we were +4 in TO.

It's coulda, shoulda, woulda but there was a lot of holding on AZ's right side that should have been called. And you could tell on the head refs face he didn't want to call the final play. He was trying to find some way to make the play stand. It was 100% obvious De Laura didn't make it. Brock was losing his mind on the sideline when they gave AZ the first down. Brock was at the sticks. He knew it was half a yard short. The refs were gonna **** us there. Had Brock not walked on the field and started screaming at the ref crew they would have.

I can't believe there isn't any much discussion on how the refs f'd us on the QB sneak play. They only showed it once, but the overhead/endzone replay showed Delaura did not make it in AND that it was fumbled.

Refs? REFS? We're playing a team that was 3-6 in the PAC last year and predicted to go 4-8 this year and is made up of Kentucky's backups. They turned the ball over FIVE TIMES and we had homefield advantage and it went to OT and came down to a 6" difference in the spot. Zona also got flagged a good bit

No, the refs were not the problem. It's both pathetic to spread that narrative and a waste of time as we can't control the refs

He absolutely made it. YOu could see his legs, both knees were at the line. The front of his chest (where the ball was) was over the line

Regardless, the fact we let them drive right down the field and get 1st and goal from the 1 with 17s left is the big problem there, not the inch by inch result of the next play.

Yes we could run the ball effectively, but we have to pass it too. Tulu needs more touches, and if we?re going to recruit and play TE?s they need to be involved with the passing game as well. I think last night was an overall bust offensively like the majority, but our defensive play calling was not very appealing either.

Frankly, I don't think Will knows what to do with the TEs. It's like driving an automatic most of your life and then you're put into a standard. Now you have to remember to use the clutch when you shift gears.

I agree. It's embarrassing to even mention the referees. We were the recipients of 5 turnovers and won in OT against a very bad team.

Nailed it again. Last night was total bullshit.
