"IF" Colorado wins 8 games, Coach Prime will win National Coach of the Year.

Rationale: Colorado will be in the National spotlight all year. Also Saban, Kelly, Smart, etc. will have to win the National Championship to be in the running.

If you are selling, are you taking the over or under?

It doesn’t matter if it was Prime or Joe Blow you take a 1-11 team turn it over completely and then win 8 games you get coach of the year.

I'm buying. But he is going to have to work on that interior line.

Not so sure, Willie Fritz took Tulane form 2-10 in 2021 to 12-2 last year and didn't win Coach of the year. Sonny Dykes did.

Definitely buy in the short term.

Long term success? That'd be a hard sell.

Truth is, what does TCU have. Just because they played for the championship doesn't mean they have a great team this year. They lost the heart of that team in just the QB.

Now, you also can not argue with the result in week 1.

Let's hold off on tossing out a hall of fame invitation and watch him play a team that's capable of winning more than 6-7 games this year.....

I wasn't a believer, but my mind is changing. If he goes 6-6 this year, watch out for 2024.

I can't stand Deion, but it's time I admit I was wrong about him. He's going to succeed. It's all about the Jimmy's and Joe's and he can recruit. His X's and O's didn't look horrible either though. Will be interesting to see how they play against better teams, but he's really already proven more than I thought he would in game 1. Cocky bastard...can't stand him. For some reason I can't stand him or Shane Beamer. I guess bc they both feel like they're fake to me. Like they're both always assuming the camera is on THEM instead of their team, and every facial expression, body language, etc is a "show" for the camera. Comes across insincere and all about "me"

Prime Time was NIL before there was NIL. He is a self-marketing genius.

KJ Costello threw for over 700 yards vs LSU - let?s see how Colorado looks after more than 1 game.

Like him or not, he gets it. He knows what it takes to win and will be in every game. He also recruits the players needed.

would he go to Florida after 2 seasons for 11 mil?

Should. But not sure he would. FSU's biggest rival...would be a big middle finger at them. That being said, they didn't believe in him enough to hire him when they could, so maybe Deion would love that opportunity. He's definitely petty and cocky enough

TCU supposedly had 3 returning starters. TCU had no film to prepare for this team. It was an impressive first game, but I will withhold judgement until they play so cal and Oregon.

They actually had 10 returning starters (3 - offense/7 - defense) but that's neither here nor there. The two bigger issues were that TCU had little to no tape to prepare and Deion has had all spring/summer to talk about no one believes in them blah blah blah.

Teams will now have tape and the bandwagon is starting to get full after one week. They will probably win their next two but then the competition gets more difficult with Oregon and USC. While everyone is focused on how many yards they threw for, their defense gave up 541 yards. That's not a recipe for success.

I can see them winning 6 or 7 games but probably won't beat anyone of substance.

Vegas set TCU's win total for the season at 7.5.....not too much faith in what they had coming back by the folks at the sportsbooks.

That's really the premise behind the buy/sell. If you look at Colorado's schedule, outside of the 3 (Oregon, USC, and Utah), they play a bunch of middling teams. However, you know Deion is going to Prime Time after every win and the national media will be there to record it. So, I'm saying if they get to 8 wins (against a bunch of middling teams), Deion will have marketed himself into Coach of the Year.

Fair enough. Maybe I read the 3 returning starters on offense and took that as the whole team.
