The ranking goes to 100 but they have "E5" as the 89th best player. So, it looks like they just started picking dudes at random after some point. In the SEC west LSU, Arkansas, and Texas A&M clearly won the portal. Ole Miss is 4th. Alabama clearly got pillaged. So Auburn and MSU are the 5th or 6th best portal clubs. Beyond the Purdue kid MSU has 3 players in the top 100 (44-Schuelke, 57-Ligon, and 94-Kohler)

Seems to me the vast majority of the players on that list are players in positions MSU doesn't need... if you want to rebuild through the portal every year and ignore the signing classes..that doesn't send a very good message to high school kids ...but hey the hate Lemonis crowd doesn't care about logic ....

Member when we couldn't fire Lemonis because he was going to put together a great transfer class and fix the mess he made?

No it was because he had a great recruiting class coming in and it was C34 the same guy defending him now.

I'm still waiting on the 'secret' commits who withheld their name from the portal so other teams wouldn't interfere in their secret plans to come here.

Literally every pitcher and every OF on this list would have solved a "position of need", that is the majority of players on this list. Wtf you on about? Every 3Bis better than the one we got too.

3B and P stands out as positions of need that we underperformed at compared to the rest of the conference.

Unless things change with NIL and the portal, hs signees aren’t going to be valued as highly as they used to be. Of course, the very best hs prospects will still be fought over and most will find their way into lineups, but any player that doesn’t perform at a high level risks being replaced thru the portal. Mississippi basically cut at least 2 starters and signed several in that list to replace them.

Arkansas has already said they won’t be signing as many hs players in the future. Vandy is even hitting the portal hard. The SEC is basically turning into an all star league of sorts.

I honestly don’t see how Lemonis survives next season. We are depending on a lot of players and positions to improve, which they probably will. But, everyone else has plugged PROVEN all star type players into positions of need. I’m a pessimist though.

Hate to break it to you guys (comes from a double secret probation source), but our NIL balance for baseball is no longer what you have heard for 2025. Lemonis gave Coach 34 a substantial NIL amount to serve as his PR Representative. Had to be big $ for this recent change of opinion!******. Hail State!

Totally agree, a near last place team should be super picky in the portal. Don't want to damage that awesome chemistry. Vitello, Johnson, Van Horn, and Schlossnagle, don't know squat***

Wait?I thought Lemonis said that there wasn?t anyone in the portal better than what we already had.

Yeah, he's gone after next season, regardless of all the draftees we have and when it happens I'll volunteer my services to pack his buckets.

I doubt it. We'll improve a bit to 13 or 14 conference wins and get into a Regional, and the same people who made us keep him this year will say "You can't fire a coach after that kind of improvement!"

It's wild how back in 2014 people were made at John Cohen for not hosting and calling it a bad season - we went 18-12 in the SEC, but RPI failed us and we missed hosting and finished 2nd in Lafayette. Some of our fans are less mad about Lemonis winning only 18 SEC games in 2 years than they were at Cohen for winning 18 in 1 year.

That is a very telling stat that I never really thought about. My confidence continues to wane.

As I have said before and will say a million times Lemonis needs to make a Super Regional this year or do something extraordinary like win the SEC or SEC Tournament if he wants to come back.

Cohen may have made people mad in 2014 but it was worse the next year when we had a losing season before we started our 2016-2021 run. Good thing we didn't fire him after 2015 huh?

Nobody was mad in 2014, other than odd ball crazy people. The 2014 team was only stopped by a dodgy umpire In Lafayette. MSU would have won that regional otherwise.

2015, people were mad. Had 2016 been equally bad, then Cohen does not survive. But three Junior pitchers became big time. Hudson, Sexton, and Houston. Also got two massive transfers in Kruger, Rigby and Lowe. Also signed a pretty good Freshman, Jake Mangum.

Lemon has his team and has talent. Be good or be gone. We'll see in the Spring

It's football season. We won our Jamboree last night. I argued for 5 minutes today with my neighbor today about State/LSU. College football is on TV.
