Now the goal has to be to set the record for futility in a 162 game season. At 34-90, thru certainly have a shot at it. But misery loves company and the Royals are only 4 games behind the A?s in the loss column.

As an A's fan, they were eliminated from playoff contention on the first day of spring training. My only reason for keeping up with them this year was to see if Rooker had a good enough year he could get traded to a contender and if they could catch the Royals to not be the worst team in mlb.

The A's are eliminated from AL west contention. However, there is still hopes for the playoffs. They are only 35 games back from the last wild card spot with 38 games still remaining. So there's a chance *

Rooker hit a walkoff hr last night against the Royals. Only 4 games behind them to become next to worst team in MLB. Keep hope alive.
