That is awesome. He seemed underrated while here but loved how hard he played. Also, you don't hear a lot about athletes getting tough degrees like engineering. Sounds like a role model for young student athletes.

Dude was all Dawg. The run and fumble against Ark was one of best efforts to score ever. if Vic ever smelled the endzone, he was getting in.

Great success story. Wonder where he got his eng degree?

He is one of my favorite backs to wear the uniform. He did his job well and was humble the entire time. I NEVER saw him get run down from behind once he broke into the open field. Great update!

My brother n law retired from Lockheed-Martin a couple of years ago. Has been with the company in Ft. Worth ever since he graduated from State with a degree in electrical engineering. He was lead engineer on a plane recently developed for the Military.

Vicks one of my all time favorites! No one played harder than him and he never got caught! And I still believe his run, jump and twist at the goal line against auburn in 2011 was a td! Horrible end to his career with the injuries but glad to see he didn?t hang his hat on just being a football player! Smart and humble man!

I couldn't find the video of that run but it was one of greatest efforts by a RB. Shame it was a fumble. I believe it was Ark in OT.

Enjoyed watching him carry the rock. Ran hard, good vision, and left it all on the field. Great dawg!

He was a prototypical Mullen guy. Not recruited highly, juco guy, didn?t have all the bells and whistles of a fast 40 time or insane agility, but was just a great player.

He pass blocked very well.

Probably why he was the starter more so than some other backs we had.

Yes there was one against arky but the one I?m
talking about was against auburn when we got stopped at the goal line at the end of the game in 2011. Vick made a run to the goal line leaped, twisted and lunged forward and the replays looked to show he broke the plain but of course we got screwed. It was the game when on 4th down auburn appeared short of a first down because there was space between the ball and the sticks but auburn was awarded a first down. They scored a td on that drive

Here is the run I was talking about. Starts at the 4:37 mark. I swear he broke the plane but what an effort! I mean dude took off from the 4 yard line!

Ballard was pretty fast for a RB.

He definitely wasn't a helmet tapper that's for sure. Loved the effort he played with.

Vic Ballard and Aeris Williams were two very underrated backs.

One of the best RB's to come through State, he was very underrated and was actually having a solid NFL career before the injuries started.
