Vacating wins is a meaningless penalty and will never change the behavior of schools that cheat.

Question we have 19 forfeits on our overall record from the Tyler years (stupidly got an injunction from a local judge to play Larry Gillard for his illegal clothing purchase* which the NCAA won later in a higher court). What is the difference in a forfeit then and a vacated win now. Both are meaningless in probation "punishments" in my opinion. Thanks. Hail State!

Did Gillard not get the same discount on the cloths as other students as I recall (35%)? I just remember it was bogus for some reason?Bob Tyler was a hell of a coach, & ole miss knew it!!

Heard MisKelly's gave all MSU students that discount, but it was about the only thing the NCAA could stick us for (I think Richard Blackmore was nailed also). Our mistake was getting a ruling for them to play from a local court when the NCAA had ruled them ineligible. After a higher court over turned that decision we got the 19 forfeits for the games they played in. We were loaded in those days and had a talent pipeline from Moss Point. Watching us run the Veer was a thing of beauty and our D could also be salty.
