I don?t know much about him but he is rated 10 by PG. Is he as good as his ranking?

It's too high as a position player only, which he rather hit. His upside is as a pitcher and where MLB have said they would draft him. Big first baseman pop is the ultimate profile, can play some OF. The K rate is a huge question mark and if he can get it lowered his stock will rise as a position player. I think he needs to embrace at least bullpen some

This is GREAT news for us! He is northern California player of the year and full of tremendous upside. He is also bleeding maroon and white on his Twitter page.

Really good player.

I would bring him in and let him do both and see where he fits best. I'm sure that's going to be the plan anyway.

Will he be draft eligible after 2 years or 3?

Stevens and a Grant making it to school is a nice win. Once the portal guys announce, it could be a happy ending to a rough season. Then the work begins.

This and I?ve been hearing we?re gonna close pretty good portal wise.

Here is my question. Why would the portal guys, if they know they are going to be bulldogs, not go ahead and announce? This is what confuses me.

Good question. I hear the reasons but I don?t know if I?m buying it.

It almost feels like we had an agreed upon deal that promised $$$ we didn't really have yet and the transfers are just waiting till we actually have the money to make it official.

Im sure that's not the reality but that's what the "waiting" story line feels like.

Because they aren’t worried about making you feel better. They are on their own schedule

Fair enough. Let me preface this by saying you're probably correct and it's me that's not getting it: what "schedule" reason would they need to wait 1+ week after making their decision to announce? I get wanting to tell coaches, teammates, and family before the news drops. On the flip side I get wanting to be out of town completely before the news drops. But it seems odd that all of our Portal commitments-all from different schools BTW- are in this same "silent comit" territory. No other team seems to be having this situation, and we haven't in years past either.

Are they all wanting to announce together to make a big splash? I'm just not seeing the motive for 2, 3+ guys to hide their commitment for this long.

This reads like something that Kennard would tweet, and it isn?t a real answer to a legitimate question.

I don?t think this has anything to do with an individual recruit and their own timeline. If what has been suggested on this board is true, then we have multiple kids who are waiting to announce. In that case, it seems more like an orchestrated plan by our baseball staff and not the individual decision of the player. If so, the question is legit? if Lemonis is behind this, then what is the point of using this strategy?

I have 0 confidence in this silent commits bullshit.

I have 0 confidence in this silent commits bullshit.

There's a lot of insiders who seem pretty confident it's already a done deal, so i guess who am I to say otherwise?

That said, it does sound like the players are merely considering us (or playing us for NIL at their school) and our insiders' sources are overly optimistic about what's really happening. Getting a "visit" from Hollman or Burns is not the same thing as getting their commitment. Being in talks with Montgomery is not the same as him actually coming here. I'm not calling anyone here a liar, but I would not be surprised if their sources inside the athletic department/Booster side of things are jumping the gun a bit and acting like it's a done deal when we're just 1 of 4 schools under consideration to the player in question. We're all desperate for positive news, and that makes us not evaluate the situation as skeptically as we should.

... or the insiders are right and I'm just an idiot, lol

It's the last day they can enter, not the day when they have to commit to a school.
