What a strange weather pattern we seem to be stuck in. I understand the usual summer thunderstorms but up here in Sumner County TN, we're experiencing Texas like heat indexes then daily storms that are actually taking lives. Hail and 60-70mph wind gusts with these storms. And they keep coming from different directions. Yesterday they hit me from the northeast. Today they are coming from my west. I love the storms. It just seems a little different.

All I gathered from that gif is that lows and highs were all over each other and they were red and blue like ole miss so you know it's gonna suck.

85 mph winds at Mooresville, Alabama this afternoon (the town is between Decatur and Huntsville).

We were in Atlanta this weekend and came back this afternoon. Had extremely heavy rain between Adairsville and Menlo, Georgia along with some wind.

The high heat and humidity is one factor. It is allowing for high CAPE values. We also are having large lapse rates (temperature ranges between different altitudes). This is leading to strong updrafts and the large hail and winds. The one good thing is low level shear is weak so there is a low tornado threat.
