Wow. 19-3 Florida. Is Skenes available tomorrow? Florida has woken up.

Playing for it all in game three... he may not start but, yeah, if they need him he will play

24-3. 24 runs the most ever scored in a MCWS game.

I will never forget Florida up 12 in the 7th and Sully sends the runners.

Agreed

<chuckle> I've cauliflowered an earlobe or two for less than that. So step into the box when you're ready!!! LOL!!!

I guarantee Florida does not score another nine runs if you put down that first Florida batter after that.

I predicted Florida would win the Natty this year, I’m sticking to this. Florida seems to rise to the occasion when it matters this season.
Skenes will be tough no doubt but just have this feeling bout Florida.

We didn't think LSU has the depth of pitching after Skenes to hold off Florida. Ty Floyd gave them an outstanding first final game performance but today seemed to say they're depleted. Tomorrow likely will be more of the same as Skenes won't be able to give them enough.

Like State against Vandy in 2021. Except a lot more runs by the team that lost game 1 this year.

This is turning out exactly like our series with Vandy. Now they have to slay the dragon tomorrow and I believe they will.

My thoughts as well when they scored all those runs today. LSU May be shell shocked. Skenes will be tough but something tells me Florida will get it done.

I believe Will Bednar pitched against Texas on Saturday, then threw the 6-inning no-hitter against Vandy on Wednesday. Skenes pitched Thursday against Wake Forest, then would go tonight (Monday). So Skenes will have the same amount of rest as Bednar did.

Personally I think Skenes can be effective. If he pitches well, the question will be how long can he go? We were hoping for 3-4 innings out of Bednar, then some good middle relief to get us to Landon Sims. But Bednar gave us 6 innings, and a well rested Landon Sims gave us the final 3.

Skenes is a monster of a kid, you expect him to start and do really well.

122 innings pitched this year, sounds high, but typical of an Ace on a finalist team. But Skenes is not typical at all. FYI, Skenes pitched 85 innings last year. He's in new territory by a long shot right now.

Yeah, but that?s perfect from an MLB standpoint the way they like to gradually build innings. He?ll throw a few more in the minors this year, then they?ll shut him down. He?ll be ready to pitch 160 or so next year in the minors/majors and then be a full-time MLB SP with no limits potentially by 2025.

50 percent increase in innings from one season to the next is pretty substantial.

I would think he will be on a pitch count tonight, not sure the number but I would think around 60 or so. Be interesting to see how Jay Johnson handles this situation.

Also, no pressers.

Jay Johnson once there a kid 150 pitches.

He'll do what's best for LSU- Pitch Skenes till he's no longer effective. They aren't going to lose a Natty over ensuring a pitcher that's already throw 250 pitches in the CWS only throws 50 move vs 80 more. They're going to ride that horse hard.

I think Skenes pitches 50-60 pitches; I'm just not sure if it is as starter or closer. Future MLB career vs NC - the drama on the mound as big as the NC game itself.

If Skenes doesn't start, it'll be too late by the time they decide to throw him.

LSU's luck is that whoever they throw, pitches the game of his life. Then they get a pinch-hit HR in the 9th from a 3rd string catcher.

The Yellow King in NOLA is already sacrificing a virgin to Satan to make this happen. Just me, the spaghetti man could be Cade Beloso or Tommy White.

Dunno Down, whoever starts will get the hook pretty quick I think at the first sign of trouble. I get not starting Skenes but JJ will be quick to bring him in to quell a threat.

If they think Skenes is ok to throw a few innings I don't understand why they don't start him and see how he feels after throwing some pitches.
I don't hate this LSU team nearly as bad as most of their previous teams and wouldn't mind to see them beat that dickhead O'Sullivan except I work with a bunch of LSU fans and don't want to hear them run their mouths.

Think they would prefer to see if they can stay close early before bringing him in later.

I know it took me a while to figure it out, but I just realized the reason their crowd yells LSU is because they cannot spell Louisiana.

That Jeer, I mean Cheer grates on me just like that clownish Maroon/White Cheer. I always think of Bugs Bunny cartoons when I hear MAROON! I have no problem with the color itself. It is that tired worn out cheer. Like L S U!
And Hoddy Toddy. And Roll Tahd. And Woo Pig Soouie. And Milkmen Yell Leaders. And Rocky Top. And Roosters crowing. And War Tiger Eagle Plainsmen. And Gata Chomps. And USM To The Top.

Gaaaaaa! Puke and Gag a maggot.

Not an LSU fan either but 17 Sully! From hitting C.T. Bradford (who is from Florida) 3 straight at-bats the first time we faced UF with him as coach to doing the gator chomp in front of our dugout to our players after they beat us in a super. 17 him!

They'll lose Skenes, Crews, Morgan, Riley Cooper, Jobert, Dugan and more... but they'll have Tommy Tanks White and a slew of pitchers back to build around. Combined with their commitment to using the transfer portal and they will not follow MSU & UM into the bottom of the SEC.

Wish we had that committed fortitude.

Yeah they pretty much will get whoever they want and they'll reload from a talent standpoint.

They've shown that this model will work
