Do the bowl tie-ins mean "order of pick for the bowl", "order of SEC standings", or "order based on overall record" when they say?:

SEC 8 vs CUSA 1
SEC 9 vs ACC 5
SEC 10 vs ACC 7

If it is based on SEC standings, do we not finish ahead of OM due to head-to-head and both 3-5? Yes, I know we could be jumped in any case, but is this the way it works?

Probably not, but it's all approximate anyway.

..in the SECW & OM 6th.

So in that regard we are above them in the pecking order.

BUt I don't think it will affect our bowl placement, because last year OM played in the Compass so they are not going back to B'Ham.

They have 7 overall wins which I think will get them a Liberty Bowl bid.

The bowl order is what is important- they make the picks.

We finished ahead of Ole Miss, but Ole Miss is going to go to the Music City ahead of us and Vandy. The MC doesnt want Vandy.
Vandy will then get the Liberty because Slive is not going to let an 8 win SEC drop below a 6 win team. It just looks bad. Vandy will already be screwed out of the Gator and MC- then wont drop past Liberty
