This season is done. Why wouldn't you have Hines at 1B getting game reps the rest of the year if he is going to be 1B next year?

Leroy Jenkins

Right now he's majoring in carving our ass up.

He's not going to need a degree.

No runs, no hits and no one LOB for the Dawgs.

Feel free to cut and paste.

You better be ready to swing the bat with this Ump. Hes not worried about no Trackman.

He's not going to need a degree.

If you are suggesting he will sign a mlb contract, probably so, but not based on how he carves up MSU batters. Nothing has changed for them just because Foxhall is gone. They swing at a breaking ball out if the zone, take a fastball over the plate, then swing at a breaking ball out of the zone. OUR pitchers could carve up OUR batters if they could get ahead 0-2 or 1-2 consistently. Which of course they cannot.

State has a little bit of success when the guy started getting behind in the count. Too bad Hunter couldn?t square that meat pitch up.

Cade not with his best stuff but battling admirably. Once again unfortunately looking like it's a question of run support.

Coach34
05-05-2023, 06:53 PM
amazing what happens when you start throwing more fastballs at the hands up in the zone. Been yelling for it for years

Leroy Jenkins

Pitch selection.... 150% more fastballs. According to my extremely scientific opinion.

So Alford has another unproductive at bat. And Hancock backs up Alford?s effort with a crappy effort himself. These guys have no marbles!

CaptainObvious

Then Larry makes it a trifecta with 2 on and nobody out.

Amazing how much better Highfill looks when he's not having to block-up 15 bounced sliders per inning.

EdwardDrayton

I dunno, maybe score some runs?

EdwardDrayton
05-05-2023, 07:42 PM
Two hits and one earned run.

CaptainObvious
05-05-2023, 07:59 PM
Two flipping hits! I would cut all 41 of them and tell them they can try out next year. We can go 6-24 with Arkansas- Pine Bluff players.

Leroy Jenkins
05-05-2023, 08:02 PM
Not bad Cheatham.

Every other team?s batters can hit nibble pitches. Why can?t ours.

EdwardDrayton
05-05-2023, 08:10 PM
So if this one holds, what's that, 1-6 in our last 7 conference games. Just for fun, let's resurrect the thread about how we could get to thirteen conference wins. Not.

CaptainObvious
05-05-2023, 08:10 PM
There was a fast ball right din the middle thigh high to Alford and I swear he could not have hit it with a damn tennis racket. If Clark, Highfill, Larry and Alford are guys State HAS to play then the coaches suck at recruiting.

There is an example: Cali takes a nibble pitch on the outside corner and drives it into right field for a double for Arkansas. He has gone oppo every at bat.

Edited to add Hancock and Mershon to the what have you done for me lately?

Skydawg1

So pitching was ok tonight and the batters have cost us runs. We sure we fired the right guy??*

I have to believe Zac is preparing. Makes sense he will make the move before season's end to signal our job is available and the new coach will be able to hand pick his own staff.

We might as well pitch our worst pitcher the first game of every series since our offense can't seem to score in that game anyway. Guess we did finally score some runs last Thursday but not until TN already had a big lead.

I really kind of doubt it. We're already down to not having a pitching coach.

He could meet with Lemonis after the sweep this weekend and let him know he is not being retained. ?I think it is best for the program if you move on and we go in a different direction at the end of the season. You can coach these last two series or not. Your choice?

OK. But the risk is what happens if the team happens to play better against LSU and A&M?

You can say "well that's not going to happen" and it probably isn't- but this is baseball and literally anything can happen.

I don't see the point in telling him that after this weekend if we do get swept when it's going to have the same effect in about 2-3 weeks from now.

Especially on top of that going into a road trip to Baton Rouge where if it is known our head coach isn't coming back that's a recipe for tampering.

My point is- just let this play out. If we go 0-8 in the SEC we're probably going to fire him. If he doesn't then we'll make a decision based on the performance of the team over the entire season and everything will be taken into account.

And perhaps a dead program to keep him. NIL will hurt us, and keeping lemonis is dragging us down even more

We would be blasted by the media, they already are assuming that might happen. Why let Foxall go if Lemon was going at end of year? Doesn't make sense.

If you are correct then Lemo already knows how the story ends. Why would Keenum, Selmon or the money guys tell him to stick a band aid on a huge gaping wound. He is in over his head and will dig the hole even deeper next year if given the opportunity.

What does that accomplish. Fire him. The day after A&M, fine.

It's not just pitching, as we are at the bottom of the league in defense I think. Lots of issues on Lemonis watch since the NC.
