Our pitching isn't dominant and putting us in defensive battles anyways. (Though to their credit they've looked a lot better the last 5 SEC games.) The defense has been letting us down so we need to put up 10+ runs to feel comfortable. Lane isn't going to be conducive to that. The pressure provided by Larry and Mershon taking good ABs made going 2-3-4 in the lineup way more feasible.

There's no baseball atmosphere that compares to it. It's a little like Death Valley in Baton Rouge. When the crowd gets into late teams just crumble.

Yep. When we're at home and it's close you almost feel like we're always gonna win. The crowd is just so intimidating and these teams just don't play in these type atmosphere's anywhere else!

Us and Arky are the only two teams that have fanbases that cause that kind of shift. No other team comes close. The Old Alex Box had that same kind of mystique about it, but the new one doesn't at all.

Agree completely. Arky is tough place but you're right about lsu. The old box was incredibly tough but the new one didn't quite measure up.

Not to play devil's advocate, but we said the same thing last year. We folded like a Dollar General tent and they win the national championship. We just have to continue to build on the good things we do. You know Colby has looked really good for 3 weeks now. KC has looked night and day the last 2 weeks. We need to get Dohm back pitching like he was and we just need to continue to somehow right the ship with what little bullpen we have and just piecemeal every game together.

Take away lanes error and using Ynetma(ugh) and our pitchers only gave up 2 runs and last night only 3 and pitched well last weekend and the weekend before. You're basically right on the money. I think we've found 4 bullpen arms in Hunt, Holcombe, Dohm, and Nixon. We need probably two more guys to step up out of the pen and really need one of them to be a lefty....looking at you Loftin.....So basically someone out of Siary, Tapper, Gibbs, or even Stinnett as much as I hate to say it needs to step up. We also need to have consistency out of our starters. We need 5 innings minimum per start. We'd love 6 or 7 but that's probably asking too much the way we run up pitch counts.

Let's just get tomorrow and then we give ourselves the opportunity to worry about Auburn. We're in Survive and Advance mode right now. Every weekend is basically a Super Regional for us. We have to win, including this one, 4 of our last 6 series and we can't get swept in the two we lose. That's a tall task, but if you want to talk about regionals, which it seems people are back in that mindset again, that's what has to be done.

Nixon is slowly getting back to what he was his Freshman year at Texas. And that's what we need him to be. Not just for this year but next as well. He's a valuable piece to have at the end of the game because in his best form he's a true closer. Those are rare in college baseball.
