The approach at the plate from game to game is baffling. One game the batters are in attack mode. The next gene they are in a passive mode.
Attack: See a strike. Hit a strike.
Passive: See a strike. Take a strike. Then swing at a breaking ball in the dirt. Then take called strike 3.
Last night, Mississippi?s pitchers were getting a first pitch strike on a slider. Our guys were screwed after that. Their starter had a 6.57 ERA. His struggles usually come with the 2nd and/or 3rd time through the lineup. He was in the 4th inning before our leadoff guy saw him for the second time. We have to find guys who can time the spin stuff.
