There are reports that over 20,000 tickets have been sold. I don't think it's possible to fit that many in DNF but I do think we probably break the record this year.

I'm guessing 15,900. What say you?

The Notre Dame Super was as packed as i think that place can get and I think that was 14,700ish. They'll be 15,500ish there but no one in that stadium is going to be comfortable. They need to start capping the GA tickets they're selling.

We have a national championship now. Attendance records shouldn't be something we have to hang our hat on any longer. If the administration is that damn concerned with attendance records then just put more upper deck chair backs down the line and sell them as season tickets. NEVER SELL GA CHAIRBACKS AND NEVER PUT IN BLEACHERS. If you think the rush to get to the berms is bad just imagine how bad it would be getting to those. There'd be people getting injured running up the stairs and fighting for seats. Bleachers would look tacky, and yes, even if they were like the ones in Hoover.

There's a free article over on the 247 site that quotes Mike Richey (Associate AD over ticket operations). He states “We’re going to technically I guess expand the perimeter of Dudy Noble Field a little bit. I think we’ll take in some area round the right field corner that will be ticketed space. So yeah, I’ll be shocked if we don’t have the biggest crowd we’ve ever had at Dudy Noble this weekend.”

With potential rain, I'm thinking a little under 14,500.

17,000

I see the forecast this morning. It's still iffy on rain for Saturday night but there is a chance. So if chances go up by Friday, I wonder if they can move the concert inside the hump? I hope so.

Which btw. I can't imagine how they get up a stage and all that immediately after the game. I'm sure they can and will but I'm still curious to see this happen. I hope it can stay outside and it is a big success. My daughter says there is a good bit of student interest in the concert.

Today proves that you don't need to ever go over like 14,200. It looks miserable if you're not in a chairback or a lounge spot.

It is miserable. And even with a lounge spot you can't move or go to the restrooms.

I have been so against bleachers since we built the stadium and I still am but the attendance issue is not going away. You could not walk this weekend in the concourse. So whether it is extending down the lines to add more chairbacks for season ticket holders or whether it is moving the scoreboard closer to the batters eye and put seating back behind the second row of lofts in right we have to do something. I have always said that this would only be a problem for these big weekends but this year is proving that wrong. You can barely walk through the stadium unless you are there for a midweek game.
