SPC did a very rare midday day 3 update to put parts of MS in a slight severe risk. Main threats look to be hail and straight line winds. Although a couple tornadoes can't be ruled out, this really isn't looking like a tornado threat at this time. The early runs of the HRRR are showing two strong helicity tracks across parts of the delta, though. The 1:00am SPC update with give more detail on the threats so have a better idea of what to expect then.

Yep, tornadoes are likely later tonight in Arkansas and southern Missouri. TWC has a TorCon of 7 for much of Arkansas, 5 for Little Rock (less than a week after last week's storms). Iowa and Illinois are also in the same shape, with thunderstorms already in Iowa.

Going to be an interesting night for part of the South and the Midwest.
