No. Because our positioning coach has no clue. In the 2nd inning Hujsak was 20 feet off the line and the ball was hit 10 feet off the line for a double. On the ball that Forsythe made the diving stop he was playing almost in the 6 hole. Meanwhile, we first pitch swing with 2 on and one out, and their SS was playing almost behind second base and only had to make 3 steps for the force and throw to 1st for the DP. Meanwhile, they are taking BP off our best pitcher.

Yeah it's not the talent. I know most of these kids and seen some of them for years and we are as talented as anyone. Underperforming is exactly the right word.

Bucky I'm honestly at a loss. We have the talent. I still believe Lemonis is a good coach. Ultimately it all falls on his shoulders as to why we're not getting it done and it's been ugly, ugly, ugly. We look like a Ferrari, sleek and fast but when you look under the hood we're missing a cylinder or two(or the whole engine at times) In baseball everything starts on the mound and we haven't done well at all. We walk to many, we nibble to much and we turn pitchers counts into hitters counts and get hammered. It doesn't matter how good your stuff is if you walk folks, get behind in counts you will get hammered. We get behind so early in every game our offense has to try and get it back and we press. It's hard to play from behind every game. Every game we lose look at how many we walk. We are in the abyss right now and it's gonna take so mighty work to get it righted and we may be too far gone. It's baseball though and I've seen weirder things happen but we got some serious concerns going. It sucks because all our coaches are good guys but you gotta produce

ETA imo we let games get away from us because we leave pitchers in too long. We turn close games into blowouts by leaving guys on who are obviously done. Gartman was done after 5 yesterday but we left him in to give up 5 more runs. Turning a close game into a blowout. That's just one example. There are many.

It took 6 losses but the parameters have been set for Mississippi State to beat SEC teams.

They must pitch well enough to hold the opponent to 3 or less runs. Because as good our hitting is supposedly, the max number of runs to date was set today. State mustered 7 runs, but the average through 6 games is 3.75.
