Why did we play Pitt instead of Nevada? I thought I read Nevada was the last team in and we were 1 spot away from the bye.

Heck man I don't even understand how 11 seeds are playing each other in this game and not 2 other 16 seeds like the other first 4 game.

It's the last 4 Automatic qualifiers. And it's the last 4 At-large bids.

But I thought we were #1 among the last 4 at large and Nevada was definitely #4.

Nevada looks like trash against Arizona State. Down 30 points.

That's what I thought as well.

That's just how they do it. The last 4 at-larges go to the First Four, with #1 and #2 playing and #3 and #4 playing.

I don't like it either. Some years the cutoff works to that they have 2 different seeds (like one is an 11 and the other is a 12), so maybe that's why?

I'm assuming of the two 6 seeds, that Iowa State was seeded lower than the other 6 seed. Therefore, they wanted the higher seeded play in 11's against Iowa State and the lower 2 play in 11's against the other 6 seed.

There's no logic to the whole arrangement. If there are play-in games those should be 16 & 15 seeds playing no seeds. Why 11 and not 12 or 13? This stinks of bureaucracy to me lol

Agree it seems if there's not much logic in it.

Yeah the playin 11 seed game is how they do it but it is stupid. No other seeding in post season does it that way. Not only stupid, it ain't right.
