Mississippi hasn't scored an offensive TD in Starkville since 2009.

Mississippi still hasn't won a game on grass since January 1, 2009

This stuff is pretty simple. Everyone wants to talk about Mississippi's recruiting, but, when you are recruiting in the 10-35 range (I.e. Most players 3 stars and low 4 stars), it really comes down to three things.

1. When kids choose schools for social reasons over football reasons, they usually care more about social things than football.

2. When kids choose a school for football reasons, because they will have to work hard to earn a spot, and because they have a chip on their shoulder, they usually play just like that.

3. Schematic and university fit and cohesion.

Think about it, how many players have you heard about choosing to go play at Bama or LSU because of social reasons? Very few, and that's why they get the best of both worlds.

However, recruiting sites can evaluate talent far better than they can work ethic, attitude, and character.

You get the talent, attitude, and character of the players you recruit.
