Tough break for them. Same thing we went through last year coming off a national championship.

Yeah. They're delaying the inevitable. I'm sure they're in the second opinion stage right now but we know.

I hate to see it. Even though many of the Landsharks were happy that we lost Landon S. last season.

KARMA is in effect.

I'm beginning to think Pico Kohn is hurt.......Why else would he have not pitched by now?

Big losss but they will be fine because
They have a big time coach and staff
They have a solid culture
And they have recruited very well

What I was told, Pico was not good in Fall or spring.

And may not be 100%. No reason to put him out there to get shelled like several others have been.

Yeah they won't have a disaster season like we had last year (and probably this year).

What's the "average" timeframe from surgery to the mound if everything goes smoothly with rehab?

I believe it's about 12-14 months these days

About 9-12 months, but can take longer.

Yeah that's what I was wondering, if you can get back to full strength within the year. I suppose less than a year would be an ideal, perfect situation.

Do you or anyone know how they got Groff from Tulane but we did not ? Was it because we had a crowded outfield already?
Also, you are right on their pitching staff culture. Their freshmen that have pitched so far seem to have no problem throwing stikes at 95 mph.

12-18 months is generally the rule of thumb but there are a lot of variables......

Stone Simmons was hurt early in the season last year and he's still out......Not sure what the time frame for him looks like now.......I hope it's sooner rather than later......

He could possibly be back by next spring but if I was him with his future i wouldn't rush things. My son coached a kid last year who's at usm this year. He had tj in june of 2021 and was back pitching in april of last year. He was on a pitch count but he was good to go.

About 9-12 months, but can take longer.

It really depends on the grade. A full fledged TJ is a full tear you are looking at 12 mo or more.
If it is a what we used to call grade 2 it is not torn through but is not fully functional bearing and that could be around 9 months.

Most of the time they took grade 2s and just treated them like 1s and reconstructed the entire area so it really depends on the level of damage but don’t expect him to be on a mound before Dec or even doing flat ground work by then.

I got conformation it’s a UCL grade one .. not a tear
He is getting multiple opinions from different places
And decision will be prob next week on surgery or not

Odds are he gets the surgery ..

We don’t have an outfield problem.. matter of fact we have too many .

Yeah it looks like they have changed their grading scales from that of the early 2000s (been out of that profession for about 15 years)but looks to be same recovery times. I guess the whole Stem cell stuff hasn?t taken over just yet. Ha

Hate it for the kid but not Piss and Miss

Yep, it's gonna happen to everyone eventually. Might as well go ahead and get it out the way

So Ole Miss's ace and closer are done for the year.

This sounds familiar.

Yeah there's really no reason to put it off. Everyone of the guys I know that have put it off to try just doing rehab wind up having the surgery 3-4 months later so they just put themselves further behind.

Bianco says Elliot will be back in April, no surgery.

That is less than ideal for a kid whose elbow popped. Must not be even partially torn.

"IF" it is a UCL... I won't be shocked when he's hurt again by June. Hopefully not for his sake.

Kid got 5 opinions from 5 different docs.
All said the same thing
8 week recover / rehab period
