Skenes was throwing straight gas on Friday night. But I've had a chance to see some of his highlights and it's obvious he was not facing good hitters. I'm going to be pissed if our lineup doesn't send some of those fastballs out of the park. He was throwing some meat pitches but his high armslot makes those pitches hard to hit.

It's a shame we couldn't get him. He would completely change the outlook of our team

I'm interested to see if his arm survives the season with Wes Johnson as his pitching coach.

If LSU wants a player I don't think State will out bid them, dawgs needed him. It is getting to be all about the money.

Unbelievable the threw the kid that much in game one in cold weather. Heck you'd think johnson is a travel ball coach!

He didn't care when he was here. Dakota threw 94 opening weekend, Daniel Brown threw 111, and Austin Sexton threw 101. But here's the thing. They never faltered the entire year. They were around that many pitches every game.

Those guys weren't throwing 100 mph either. Then you look at the arm troubles after that with several other guys.

Very fortunate there, although we did have some arm problems when wes was here. Just not a big fan of a young arm throwing that many pitches this early in cold weather.

We'll see. He got rocked by the only two P5 teams he faced last year and by the only tournament team he faced. Yes, he only faced one.
