We say all the time how important games are but for me this one will be truly indicative. Will it show us if the TCU win was a one-off singular game we thought all along we'd poach occasionally. Or was it the beginning of true and consistent guard play that can take us on a run.

Shak was strong but only one bucket from the perimeter I think.

Obviously we can win it from the paint but hope the guards can find the outside shot in the second half.

there is a such thing as a "no call." You don't HAVE to call a block or charge. Of course, it seems like Shak could have avoided that one. Great feed though.

I think Jans wanted DJ to be his Teddy Allen but it was Shak all along. And I agree, we would have beaten Drake, UGA, and UF with the current rotation. Maybe AU too.

Long story short I have looked at a lot of advanced stats on this team and have gone through a lot of historical data just for comparisons sake and everything points to playing Shak as much as possible, DJ has strong defensive value and Eric Reed literally doesn?t contribute anything and should not play. Not to shit on the guy but thats just statistical truth.

Good road win. Road games aren't easy. We've proven that.
Don't know how to post our box score but if you get a chance look at it. Our top 7 have a phenomenal box score. Everyone contributed. McNair only took one shot but got 5 rebounds. Cam had 8 points so quietly that I don't remember any of them.
If Stevenson keeps scoring that takes pressure off DJ who I get down on but he does bring great defense.

South Carolina allowed us to get to the basket tonight. That got us a much needed win.

But the lack of perimeter scoring is a question. Did we forgo outside shots because we could penetrate. Who knows.

Missouri up next and that will be more of a challenge. One ... at .... a .... time.

Shak is such an important piece for us going forward. He has to be double figures in scoring or near it every night as well as giving a 3 to 5 assist per game. He is by far our best gaurd and I've said it 1000 times you have to have good gaurd play to win.

As much as I talk bad about Davis he has had a few good moments and can get hot from 3 so I can't write him off...plus he and Shak are pretty much all we have from the perimeter.

I'd like to see Russell get going for us. There's something about his play I like he just doesn't get the opportunity. No disrespect to Reed and Shawn Jones but they can sit on the bench
