I am thrilled.

This is a late Christmas present to me.

Good deal.

Him and Will can compete and may the best man win

And add Parson in there when he gets healthy and things look better. I fully expect Will to start all season though. I could see Wright getting some snaps during certain situations. And maybe Arnett will let the backup play in mop up duty.

I get he's inaccurate... BUT, I think he has a legit shot to start. This offense does not need a QB to stand and progress through 4 reads and the check down. From what I've seen of Barbay, passes are more about the OC spotting a weakness in the defense and calling a play to exploit it. soft corner? 8 yard out route. Safety comes up quick? Play action. LB will blitz? Slant behind him. These are passes that don't require air raid vs 8 man zone levels of accuracy. Especially with his legs requiring extra attention

He's an elite runner with size and his footwork is ATROCIOUS, which means there's a lot of room to become a more accurate passer.

Do we use him like Taysom Hill?

So can he still enroll for the spring?

Could be a possibility. With his running ability he needs to be utilized in some way.

My thoughts exactly. Can he play tight end***

Hopefully those Vandy credits transfer*

Do we use him like Taysom Hill?

Maybe. He is bigger than I thought 6'4 195, but he as a little different "style" than Hill.

Is anything from Vandy better than what we have? I just don't see it.

Well, currently he is filling an empty roster spot.... so yeah he's better than what we have now.

Well, until he committed we only had two QB's on the roster. One of whom is a freshman coming off of an injury in high school.

He?s a downgrade from Sawyer and Locke.

He's much better than Sawyer for sure.

We don't know. You have to consider the source.

I know that Mike Leach would have never recruited Wright.

Finally something we can all agree on.

Our QB recruiting will take a significant decline.

I know that Mike Leach would have never recruited Wright.

So because Leach recruited and signed a highly overrated 3 star QB, said 3 star by virtue of Mike Leach signing him, his high school on the field performance translates to him being better than a part time starter at an SEC school?

Both Robertson and Locke were rated 3 stars in the Transfer Portal. I guess they got worse at State.

Our QB recruiting will take a significant decline.

Looks like based on their inability to beat out 3 star Brandon HS?s Will Rogers, it had declined the past 2 years.

LOL! There is a reason both Sawyer and Braedyn had more options and signed a lot sooner than Wright.

Or? maybe Wright, being a student athlete at Vanderbilt, was considering his options not just based on football, but also how his academics would translate in said University.

Can confirm multiple sec schools wanted Mike wright.

We sold him on a shot to compete this year for the starting job and that he would have a very good chance to start in 2024.

He?s a downgrade from Sawyer and Locke.

This is why no one can take KB seriously. A starting SEC QB behind one of the worst OLs in the country is a downgrade of Sawyer and Locke.

Do they have a chance to be better than him? Sure. Are they right now? No.

This is correct. Ole Miss wanted him badly until Walker Howard became an option. I also think Florida was interested late after the Rashada fall out and I think USCe too. Not sure on them though.
