Yep. I'll take a low 3 star walk-on all day at any position.

Why would someone turn down a full ride to walk on? His parents must have money. I'd send my kid where the free tuition is haha

No idea I just read the article about him being committed to Miami. He's an athletic kid, kinda raw

An article from 2021 called him the next KJ Jefferson. That maybe a stretch lol

Glad we got him. I was thinking that after Will leaves we might need to consider moving Dolla Bill to QB ****

How does one commit as a walk-on?

Really Clark?

A lot of Preferred walk-on's do since they usually have multiple schools giving them that opportunity and lower school scholarship offers.

This. He had a scholly offer from la tech and couple other sunbelt schools and pwo from Miami and Arkansas

I?ve watched him for two years. He tore is ACL in the playoffs his junior year. He lost a step this past year IMO. The ball comes out of his hand weird. I think he could throw better with some work. Good size and a great kid. Perfect for PWO

He's a great athlete. I've never really thought he could or would play QB in the SEC unless he was a walk-on scout team guy but he could be a steal for us in that he is athletic enough that he could be moved to LB or TE or something like that potentially.

I believe he had some offers from Harvard and another place like that so he is very smart and it may be that we have him "walking on" as an academic guy. Not really sure what the plan is for him but for a walk-on he is a really good pick up.

I don?t know for sure, but Vic may have academic money. He was Who?s Who at Madison Central. Just an all around good kid.

Lots of athletes that commit somewhere to schools where they receive no assistance. Happens a lot with the smaller sports, like tennis, swimming, etc.

That's a little surprising to me. I feel like people usually make a full recovery from an ACL injury these days. Was it a particularly bad injury? Or did he fill out his frame so he's carrying more weight?

I don?t know. Maybe he bulked up. All I know is that it was a noticeable difference even to a novice like me.

Chris Relf "Ralf" turned out to be one of my all time favorite players. You never know......
Ralf couldn't hit the broadside of a barn with a football if you paid him.

Best quote I ever heard about Relf was, "He could throw it through a brick wall...sadly, he missed the wall about 50% of the time."

So they do but a lot of times not in the first year.

It?s usually the second year the return to form. That first year their body is back to 100% but mentally some struggle to trust their leg again.

Yep, I had two major knee surgeries “way back when”. I gained my speed back less than a year, but my knee was never tha same. Doctor was telling me I would better than ever, he lied; LOL. But surgeries now days are a piece of cake compared to mine in the day. Wore a cast for six weeks, imagine that.

Right there with ya. I only had one surgery but knee was never the same and it's getting worse with age lol!

Hang in there brother!!!!!! I know the knee surgery is bad!! I'm fortunate to not have to deal with that type of injury!!
I fall all the time while hunting and fishing. I laugh it off because I'm healthy enough to shrug it off. God has blessed me since my cancer battle!!!!! Hunter laughs and tells Momma "Dad is a beast at falling"!!'nn lol

How I hated David Fair?s ACL tearing as he ran out of bonds and pivoted to go back to huddle. That kid was SPECIAL.

If you didn't see Fair you missed a specimen. What could have been.....

Didn't Fair trip on the first down chain as he went out of bound?

People thought Fair had a chance to be the next Bo Jackson/Herschel Walker he had that kind of talent. Just so sad what happend to him.

That quote and then the Jack Cristil quote at the Egg Bowl in 08, He can throw it long. He cannot throw it accurately but he can throw it long.

For a second, I was confused as hell as to why people were comparing our former Center to Bo Jackson, but now I'm thinking his name was Michael Fair. Or maybe Ferr?

It was Michael Fair. Funny enough, Michael played FB at Carrol Academy while my cousin was the running back.

I’ve had a few friends who tore their Achilles, slow healing process.
