I'm 44 and have seen quite a few- but this one ranks Top 5 in my lifetime simply because we had to have it so badly.

4 straight bowl games for the 1st times evahhhhhh
A young team
Overcoming injuries
Playing a true Freshman that battled all game
A defense that wouldnt quit

Just unreal

I seen it dawg

I agree that it's top five...probably top three....but need more time to think about where it really falls. But it has all the ingredients:

- Got bowl eligible with a young team
- Ends the year with momentum which is huge going into what should be a great season next year
- Dropped them below us in SEC standings
- Knocked them into a lesser bowl
- The way they lost crushed their soul

It's a beautiful thing.

This is #1.

99 was a wild finish, but nobody remembers the rest of that game was ugly and sucked ass.

13 was HUGE for the reasons you listed. Williams played balls out great for a TFr getting his first real PT. Then Super Dak comes in and wins - but not before the D makes the last play.

Great team effort start to finish.

Specials teams had mistakes, but also made 3 critical points.

Dak is a legend. A TD on 4th down in OT. Damn.

Whitley is a legend. Dan just said he has knee surgery scheduled for Monday. Mullen asked Nickoe to end is career and take care of himself for the NFL. Nickoe said he was gonna finish the egg bowl.

1) 1999
2) 2013

we hung on tonight for the win. In 1999 we had a killer instinct and took what we wanted.

1998 is #1 and it ain't close.

Skulldragging them in Oxford to win the SEC-West.

It is hard to argue this. Although, winning this game the way we did does make it a valid argument.

In terms of the game itself, 2007 was pretty damn good. Stop OM on the 50, we score 14 unanswered including the Pegues punt return for a TD, then the FG to win.

Thoroughly enjoyed this Egg Bowl. I gotta say the uniforms and helmets helped. They looked great tonight. The gold helmets are sick!! We should never use another helmet except a maroon, white and black chromed one. 4 colors and rotate them. The chrome looks so damn good!!

I have been looking for this thread and glad I found it before starting a new one.

I haven't really been around Msu football until the post Jackie era, but this would be my #1 because I was able to see it in person and with all the adversity we were facing, the team delivered and DAK ****ING PRESCOTT IS NOW AN MSU LEGEND.

I guess because last night is so fresh and 99 was a few years ago now. 13 feels bigger. But 99 was such a big comeback and they had a good team that year. We were having such a good year. The 99 win continued to make that season special. It is hard to say.

07 was a helluva comeback but they were bad that year. We were better than them that year and played like crap up until the very end. I always felt like we should have won that game anyway.

Same for 98, did any of y'all really doubt the win in that game with Romero Miller out? The way we played vs Bama and Ark the weeks before? I knew we would win that one. I talked more smack before the 98 Egg than I ever have.

But last night, the odds were so stacked in their favor. It was such a long shot to win. A true freshman giving us a solid game. A warrior coming in hurt to win it. A embattled senior make another great defensive play....such a dramatic finish.
